I' m really not satisfied with the bad image quality of the Wii mode on Wii U.
In general it really sucks compared to the good image quality (for it' s limited resolution) I had on my Wii with an additionally bought RGB-Cabel (Cinch-connections) from Mad Cats...
Before I always thought the image quality for Wii games should stay at least the same and should get even a bit better through the connection via an hdmi-cable to my Flat LCD-Display on WII U- but the definite opposite was the case .
So now that I still own my old Wii I would really like to get my save games back on it, so that I could at least get my good image quality back I had before beeing able to continue playing without having to restart the games from their very beginning...
This is how I moved some save files from my family's old Wii to my Wii U (I couldn't do a full transfer since the system was shared). Just be warned that some games that use online functions (like what I ran into with Guitar Hero) can't have their saves moved/copied to the SD card.

yes you are right about what you said - anyway it is quite annoying to get the gamesaves from Wii U back to Wii, but after several tries I made it yesterday - for all guys who wanna do the same here an explenation about what you should care in this case:
Before I will start with the explenation; I have to correct myself I' m using a Component cable from MadCatz with an HDTV-Option - not an RGB cable - and the colors and the image quality is really (at least as possible for the limited Wii resolution) better; The Sharpness might be about the same or a bit less than with an HDMI-cable on Wii U in Wii mode - wich is also better because you are not getting this crazy aliasing (flickering) on each border of everything - but the colors and the overall image quality is definetly better than with the Wii U hdmi Cable on my Toshiba Full HD screen.
Here a step by step manual on what to do:
1. Insert the SD card into Wii U before starting the system
2. Go into Wii mode on Wii U and copy or move the internally stored save games that are supported to SD card
3. Shut off Wii U and take out the SD card - insert it into Wii
4. !!COPY or move the game saves to the internal storage of the Wii!! -->Leaving the save games on the SD-Card the games running on Wii will not recognize them at all and the Wii will behave like there wouldn' t be any savegames on the system
I know its old but maybe someone of you guys still replys to me. I want to do the same as you did but I dont understand what you mean with the 4th point in your explenation. So when I transfer for example Mario Kart Wii from the Wii U to my SD card and the put it in into the Wii. Should I copy the file into the internal Wii storage and the put the SD card out of the Wii or what?
