My mistake was that I hadn't configured the field as a choice field, so your suggestion was just what I needed. The default positioning and spacing of the radio buttons and labels aren't very good (see screenshot), but I'll have a play with the Simple Form Metadata options and the Label and Description of the form field.

Is anyone aware if there is a way to remove to power button completely from the windows 10 start menu. The reason I ask is that in a VDI solution we would prefer to remove that component from the user. As when the user logs off the VDI it shutsdown automatically.

When I use the GPO to remove the shutdown, restart and hibernate command in windows 10, it leaves the power button visible, but if a user clicks on it, its simply a grey box which may be a little confusing.

Sorry...but I have similar Topics...but my expierence all over the years (because we are using VDIs since many years) this visible power button is not a Problem for the users and not generating incidents. We are using the configuration to hide shutdown and restart and keeping the power button as it is and had never an incident about that. And...believe me the users who are using this System are not Special...are well prepared.

My daughter's 6s power and volume buttons stopped working all of the sudden today. Thinking it was the usual software glitch, I updated the phone to 13.4.1 from 13.4 since that would also hard restart the phone. That however did not fix the problem. I turned on AssistiveTouch and tried a few more restarts, but still no luck. It just seems strange for both sets of buttons on opposite sides of the phone to fail at the same time. I suppose they could be connected to common logic on the circuit board which could have failed? Has anyone else seen this before? Even if the Apple stores were open, it's probably cost more to fix it than to find a used 7 or 8. I suppose I could try a factory reset and then restore from a backup? Any other ideas? Thanks!

Thank you for the reply. I have pretty much checked everything and can't find anything wrong. The phone has been well cared for and protected in a case so the buttons were not exposed to dirt or other crud. I did look at Apple hardware repairs for this phone, but $300 is way too much. I bought an iPhone 7 on eBay for $140 to replace it. The 6s was mine before I passed it onto my daughter, so it has served its purpose. Maybe I'll try selling it for parts.

If the reason you're powering off a computer is because of a problem with Windows Update, see How to Fix a Stuck Windows Update for some other ideas. Sometimes a hard power-down is the best way to go, but not always.

If your device has a broken power button, it's vital that you only use the software to restart and not just to shut down. If the power button isn't working, it also won't work to turn the device back on. You can restart iOS or an Android device without using the power button: [Restart iOS Without a Power Button] or [Restart Android Without a Power Button].

Depending on whether your computer is running on a battery, like if you're using a laptop, there will be two options here; one for when you're using a battery and the other for when the computer is plugged in. You can have the power button do something different for either scenario. If you can't change these settings, you might first have to select the link called Change settings that are currently unavailable. If the hibernate option isn't available, run the powercfg /hibernate on command from an elevated Command Prompt, close down every open Control Panel window, and start over at Step 1.

An easy way to remember: 0 = false, meaning no power or off; and 1 = true, or on. (In the case of I/O, the 'I' represents 1.) So, if a switch is turned to I, it's in the On position. If it's turned to O, it's in the Off position.

I don't know what to do but my volume rocker and power button are stuck down. They function (sometimes the power button long presses though) but there is 0 click and it doesn't feel like there is any travel. What do I do??

Flow buttons have been gaining much popularity with our business users as they help them work smarter and faster. Now, you can easily share those buttons which serve your daily work processes. Share buttons with your peers or distribute them to the wider org such that these users can run them as well, thus helping them become more efficient, as well as enforcing the same processes across the organization.

This definitely was an engineering miss- likely related to waterproofing. But allowing wake from any button would go a long way to resolving issues presented by the power button. And it seems it should be an easy software fix.

I agree with you the button is narrow and shallow which makes it difficult to operate. Allowing wake from any button will be great but it should be easier to fully power down the unit whenever you want to. It is a basic function that simply should work better!

I think there is inconsistency (hit and miss) on waking in general - whether via the app or the power button. Particularly the app. Woke up this morning and opened the app. Roam still showed as offline. Used the power button - it woke. (Button gave no clear feedback - but light turned on).

I'm having this problem too. The Roam power button has absolutely no tactile feedback and I can't tell if I have operated it or not. There are times when I hold it down and nothing happens and other times it seems like it does. Pretty flaky really for an otherwise good device. As as example it took me several goes to get the Bluetooth led to come on

I recently purchased a new TV - a Sansui 32" HD TV - which is actually the second TV i have purchased to try and get to work with my chromecast. I had previously purchased a Caixun Tv only to find google chromecast does not support that brand. I double checked before purchasing my current one, and verified that Sansui is indeed a brand supported by chromecast. When I tried to set up my remote however, I am encountering the same issues. The remote is unable to power the TV on and off, as well as control volume or change the input source.

The whole reason I wanted the chromecast remote was to perform these functions and although everything appears as if it should work smoothly, it is not. I have tried a factory reset on the chromecast device, I have ensured that CEC for the TV itself is on and enabled, but I still cannot get those buttons to work. Its extremely frustrating because I do not want to have multiple remotes lying around. Anybody have any suggestions on what to do or how to resolve the issue?

I am able to set up the remote and the core functions work, however its the power, volume, and source buttons that are not working properly. The power button on the remote works to turn both the chromecast and TV on, but when turning it off only works on the chromecast (the TV itself remains on and I have to shut it down using the TV remote). I made sure that CEC was enabled on the TV before trying to repair the remote and set it up again, but it doesnt seem to work.

Hi, the buttons on top of the machine are not designed to turn off the machine. One is meant to be used to cancel the current print. The other only turns the screen module off. There is no hardware present to turn the whole machine off except the power switch on the back.

Use cases of turning the machine off fully can include saving 30W when not in use, increased protection against surges when not in use, increased lifetime of a power supply through less capacitor wear, fewer LEDs illuminated at night in home spaces, or restarting to troubleshoot.

You could plug the printer into any assortment of power bar/inline switches which would allow the machine to be power on and off easier. You could even get fancy and use a Wifi plug so you can turn it on and off remotely.

Personally the lack of a power button is something which has always slightly irritated me, because to fully shut down the Pi you have to pull the power cable out. And I'm sure I am not the only one who has plugged in the Pi and it has started up without you wanting it to. I feel like a power button would save the hassle of having to pull the power cable out or switching off the power at the mains.

Modern power buttons use the Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI) to request the OS to turn its motherboard off. That's why, for a couple decades now, if you really want the motherboard off and the OS refuses, you had to mash its power button for several seconds.
