Hey everyone,

Just wanted to tell everyone that there is the last bit of paperwork to complete after receiving your CPSO registration number. Like Lana, I went into a state of mini panic when I saw a clean slate on the CPSO registration website but thankfully found myself on "Doctor Search" on the CPSO website. The first thing you need to do after you breathe a welcome sigh of relief is to call up the CMPA to update your membership record with the current assigned CPSO license number. Ask them if they can email you a copy of the updated document (they suggested it themselves when I called). Once that is done, you need to tell the CPSO that you are now covered. When we filled the CPSO application essay, most of us signed the "undertaking" form for medical protection/coverage since we didn't have CMPA protection at that time. Unless you signed the "declaration" form under that category, you need to inform the CPSO that you now have updated medical cover. I called them up today and them told me to forward them a copy of the CMPA membership update (the email that you received from CMPA) to crede...@cpso.on.ca with a brief email explaining about it. You can call them up yourself to confirm and can also fax/scan or directly hand them the form if you choose to do so. It took me a while to figure all that out so thought I would save you guys the trouble!
All the best and stay in touch!

Thanks girl. Super helpful!

Also, how is it that those who submitted their paperwork after I did, have already got their shit sorted out...and I'm still waiting!

I hate CPSO.

Hi everyone,

Just to follow up, after you get the CPSO#, you get your license in the mail within 4-7 days depending on where you live (I live 40 minutes away from the CPSO building and I just received mine today even though I got my license number on Monday!!). In the package is a form for change of address which I suspect most of us would need as we move closer to our universities. Also attached is the Declaration form for the professional liability coverage and both of these need to be mailed/faxed/ scanned and emailed (membe...@cpso.on.ca) as soon as possible. I called up CPSO to ask them if I still need to send the Declaration since I already sent them the email with the updated CMPA coverage. They said they still need to have the Declaration form filled out for their records which is not short of what I expected since we all know how much they love their paperwork. For the mailing address change form, they said I can just send an email to them (membe...@cpso.on.ca) specifying the address change and the effective  date for the same but I am sending the form just to be on the safer side.
Thought I would keep you guys posted!
