Hi All, The Ministry of HRD,Govt. of India has approved new format for DEGREE & DIPLOMA Certificates awarded by the recognised Professional Technical Socieities in India Like-Insitution of Engineers(India),Kolkatta, Institution of Mechanical Engineers (India),Navi Mumbai , IETE-New Delhi etc.. removing the "INSCRIPTION OF GOVT. OF INDIA RECOGNITION LETTER" in the Degree & Diploma Certificate Formats for AMIE(I) , AMIMechE(I),T.Eng. ,AMIETE , DIPIETE etc.. I am approaching the MHRD for making it compulsory for all the Professional Institution to mandatorily mention the "GOVT. OF INDIAN RECOGNITION AS EQUIVALENT TO DEGREE IN ENGINEERING" in the Degree & Diploma Certificates to avoid humilation , hardships to all such students. I request you all to also write to the MHRD in your own capacities for such request to strengthen the case. P.S. : I AM ATTACHING FOR ALL OF YOUR REFERENCE MY DIPLOMA CERTIFICATE WITH "INSCRIPTION OF GOVT. OF INDIA RECOGNITION VERY CLERLY" [IME Students never faced any problem in Arab & African countries with this format] & DEGREE CERTIFICATE (2004) "AS PER NEW FORMAT APPROVED BY MHRD" Thanks & Regards, Anuj Tyagi T.Eng.,A.M.I.Mech.E(I) Encl. :a/a Encl. : a/a |

Hi all please find attached UK NARIC certificate of recognising AMIE as a bachelor degree in engg. & EMF approval to IE(I) as a full member. Also I give my sincere thanks to Mr. Bishnujee Singh & Anuj Tyagi who are trying there best to sort out problems of students professional engineering soicieties of India. I want to bring in notice that the certificate isued by IEI & IME is still incomplete as it states "equivalent to degree in engg." which should be "equivalent to bachelor degree in engg" .As the wording of certificate is very meticulously checked by immigration & VISA authorities it becomes mandatory to have a error free certificate issued from IEI. This matter is already brought in notice to DIRECTOR (EEA) Mr. A.K. GUPTA of IEI, and he agreed to solve the problem.I request all of you (espcially who are in kolkata & delhi ) to follow up with IEI directors in this regard. Please do not go for another round of e mails as I had already done a lot and personal meetings will only be helpful in highlighting the issues. Mr. A.K. Gupta is sincere in solving this issue and he has done a lot for IEI engineers , but still follow up is required in this particular matter. thanks & regards

After viewing this certificate posted by Mr. Kapil Patel regarding UK NARIC certification of IE Sec A&B Exam, one question arised about this authentication. For admission to ECUK graduate diploma examination, one has to be Associate member of Institution of Engineers (India) as evident from attached file (page 6 of 6) posted by me, where they are considering AMIE as 3rd year student for BEng award. On the other hand, NARIC UK is considering it as BRITISH BACHELOR (HONOURS) DEGREE STANDARD, i.e., one can get direct admission to UK MEng or equivalent course. Please advise |

Dear Dipankar, I believe I should answer your query as I am associated with Engineering Council-UK.I EI Graduate is considered as BSc(Honours) in Engineering by NARIC,UK which is agency directly under Department of Education, skills & work of UK Government.IEI Graduates are allowed to be admitted in MSc programme in UK Universities completion of which make them to undergo Chartered Engineer interview & selection test procedures of Engineering Council-UK.The Associate Membership qualification listed on EC-UK is very old accrediation and since none of Indian Institution like IEI ,AeSI,IETE approached EC-UK for making changes in accrediation listing of EC-UK ,consequently it was never upgraded. But fact is you can do directly MSc in UK University and be eligible for CEng(EC-UK) selection Interview & test procedure. Please be advised that IEI is now EMF International signatory and its qualification is automatically recognised in all member countries. I hope it clarifies your doubt. Please do let me know if you have any issue with same. Best regards Bishnujee Singh ,P.E

Dear Bishnujee, Thank you very much for your information. In India, City & Guilds is only authorised to conduct EC UK examinations. Document which I have uploaded was taken from the brochure sent by their Sales representative from Gurgaon, Delhi. I spoke to him also. He informed me that, only way to become a chartered Engineer was to take admission to Graduate Diploma level and admission to post graduate diploma level was not possible. Now I can feed him with the information provided by you and will come back soon. Regards Dipankar Bera |

Hello Debojit, You can become Chartered Engineer of EC-UK if you complete AMIE plus any other MSc in Engineering from UK University which are accrediated for CEng registration.Additionally there is requirement of 7 years post qualification experience to be registered there as Professional Engineer. I hope it clarifies the situation for you. There is mandatory written and interview section for CEng election in UK. Kind regards Bishnujee Singh,PE |
