Futsal is a more compact version of soccer, played on a hard surface as opposed to grass or turf. There are less players on the court and the dimensions are smaller, but the basic rules of soccer still apply. Practices will be held three days a week, Monday/Tuesday/Thursday, at the Cedar Ridge outdoor courts. Practice is right after school until 5:00 on those days.

It is the policy of the Oregon Trail School Board that there will be no discrimination or harassment on the grounds of race, color, sex (gender), marital status, sexual orientation, religion, national origin, age or disability in any educational programs, activities or employment.

Complaint Procedures & Form

Referees
Futsal Colorado is an affiliate of US Soccer and is the only futsal league sanctioned by USYF in Colorado. We use only US Soccer futsal certified officials for our games.

The schedule is dictated by the court times we secure from the respective facilities.

Teams will be scheduled to play 5 games for the Winter League Season. Each game consists of 2 x 24 minute halves with a 2 minute half time break.

IMPORTANT COACH INFORMATION
There is no coaching license required to coach a team. Any adult who is registered with the team as a coach or manager can sit on the bench. This is a great option for teams with outdoor coaches who want to take a break, but still want their teams to continue to develop their skills, have fun and play.

Coaches with multiple teams
Futsal Colorado will accommodate coaches with multiple teams by scheduling them with back-to-back games at the same facility as much as possible. We encourage you to split your outdoor teams into two futsal teams so that every player gets as many touches of the ball as possible. A discount is provided specifically for these teams under sibling team; please use coupon code "ST".

Game Scorecards
Before each game, a pre-printed game card will be available from the referees. The cards will be populated with player names and numbers (when available). Please check the cards for accuracy and then hand them back to the referees before the game begins. At the end of each game the referee will hand the bench coaches the completed game cards. The coaches are to sign the cards and in doing so verify the score. The scores on the signed cards are official and will be entered into the standings.

Competition Format & Rules
Official Futsal FIFA Rules and Regulations as stated under the Laws of The Game (with limited House Rules modifications) will be enforced. Please review the Laws of the Game from the Futsal Colorado website.

Player Cards
Futsal Colorado will maintain record of the player cards. To be eligible to play in the USYF sanctioned league each player must have a card. USYF will send an email to the parent's / guardian's email address provided during the roster registration. Each player is required to pay the $13.50 USYF yearly membership fee and sign the Medical and Media Release forms online.

Forfeited Games
If a team fails to show for a scheduled match or does not have the required number of players to start, the referee shall start the clock but allows a 15 minute grace period. After the 15 minutes, if the team has not yet arrived or does not have enough players to field a team (4), the game will be forfeited. The game will be tallied as a 3 to 0 loss for the forfeiting team and a 3 to 0 win for their opponent.

If the referee terminates a match for reasons other than an act of God or field conditions, the Futsal Colorado Competition Committee will decide the result of the match after hearing the official reason from the referee, and both coaches.

If a player is ejected from a match the referee will hold onto the player pass, document red card on the back of the score sheet and present it to the Futsal Colorado League administrator. The player will have his/her pass returned after a one game suspension.

Games Cancelled by opponents
If an opponent cancels a game or does not show for the game, the other team may use the game time. There are no refunds for games cancelled by opponents. If a team must cancel, call Futsal Colorado as soon as possible so we can notify the referees and give the other team a chance to plan accordingly. Cancelling a game not only short-changes your team, but your scheduled opponent. Games cancelled by teams will not be rescheduled.

Reschedules
At time of registration, each team is expected to check the schedule for conflicts. Please notify Futsal Colorado of any conflicts before the registration deadline. If the manager does not report the conflicts no reschedules will be made.

Games cancelled by Futsal Colorado
We reserve the right to postpone or cancel games at any time for any reason such as bad weather or facility problems. If we have to cancel games we will do our utmost to reschedule those games. No refunds are issued for games cancelled outside our control.

Referees
If you have an interest in joining the Futsal Colorado referee pool please email us at futsalc...@outlook.com. To be eligible for consideration, you must be licensed with US Soccer as an outdoor referee.

ECYFL was formed by a group of experienced town/league-based youth soccer coaches, referees and administrators as a non-profit organization to offer and promote off season training and competitive futsal play opportunities for the players and coaches of Essex County and its neighboring communities that are affiliated with Essex County Youth Soccer Association, Massachusetts Youth Soccer and US Youth Soccer (see below).

Futsal is a form of 5v5 soccer and is the only form of indoor soccer sanctioned by FIFA and USSF. It is played without boards on a hard surface using a special ball. Match play is governed by modified FIFA Futsal Laws of The Game.

The surface, ball and rules create an emphasis on improvisation, creativity and technique as well as ball control and passing in small spaces. These factors combine to allow players to develop quick, confident touches, and make quick, confident decisions on and off the ball while playing a fast paced, exciting game.

Please browse our site or email us at in...@ecyfl.org for more information. We hope you will consider ECYFL as part of your team/town/club's off-season training and be a frequent visitor to our site!

Essex County Youth Futsal League has been accepted as an affiliated league by the Massachusetts Youth Soccer Association, and is affiliated with US Youth Soccer and the US Soccer Federation through Mass Youth.

US Youth Soccer is the largest youth sports organization in the country, with almost 3 million youth players and nearly 1 million administrators, coaches and volunteers. USYS has programming for all children, from the youngest grassroots players to National Championships for the elite players.
