After losing three students this past academic school year, Chelsea High School began a campaign and public art project called #WhyYouMatter to help address a grieving community. Each student and staff member in our school was asked the question: "Why do you matter?".... then they were photographed holding their answer.
Our students, Mrs. Naar, Ms. Rutherford, Mr. Murphy and many others have been hard at work over the past six months preparing for the public opening to our #WhyYouMatter campaign. This has been a true labor of love for our kids and they are excited to share this project with their families, friends and community members.
We would love for you to join us in the high school Commons on Tuesday, January 17th at 7:00pm for the official opening. After a few opening comments from Mr. Kapolka, Mrs. Naar, Ms. Rutherford, Mr. Murphy and our students, you are all invited to walk through CHS to observe these powerful images and statements.
