Dear Democratic Club Members,
Senator Mikulski and Governor O'Malley need your help to win the
election this year! The New York Times election forecast model has
listed the Maryland Governors race as a toss up. The primary turn out
in the state is causing all Democrats to worry, even Senator
Mikulski. Republican primary turn out was up 9 percent and Democratic
primary turn was out down 9 percent. It is sad to say but the public
has already forgotten how bad the state of affairs were in this
country under Republican leadership. So we need everyone to rally for
the last month of the campaign and come out to volunteer for the
Senator's and Governor's re-election campaigns!
We need your help with our "Get Out The Vote" efforts! We will be
calling registered Democrats to remind them of their new voting
options, including vote by mail, early vote and reminding them when
election day is. Our goal is to get as many Democrats to vote as
possible and to get them out early! By calling fellow Democrats you
are not only helping with the Governor's and Senator's race but all
Democratic candidates. We will be running phone banks in Elkton every
Wednesday, we need at least 12 volunteers to fill up the phone bank on
Wednesdays. Please, everyone sign up for at least two volunteer slots
this month for 2 hours each.
I know people are busy but we think enough is at stake here that
everyone can volunteer 4 hours in a month! Currently we are getting
less than half the volunteers we need to help us out. Please, call me
or e-mail me with what days and times you can volunteer for. I will
give you a reminder call the day before. If you absolutely can't make
a day or need to reschedule please recruit a friend to take your
place! If you have the time please feel free to volunteer to take the
place of someone who is unable to. Thanks for your help and I look
forward to seeing you in Elkton on Wednesdays!
