Hello,

How do I reset the Admin password for logging into the Hermes Admin console (http://localhost:8080/corvus/admin/home)?  I've tried admin/admin and corvus/corvus with no luck - I get

Error 401--Unauthorized

I'm using Windows Server 2008 R2, Oracle database 11.2.0.4 and WebLogic 10.3.2.

I've read all the instructions re. editing the tomcat-users.xml file - is there an equivalent file in WebLogic?

Many thanks,
Nicola

Dear Nicola,

Thanks for your interest in trying Hermes Business Messageing Gateway!

The default admin username and password is "corvus/corvus" as mentioned in the prerequisite section (Point 3) of the Hermes documentation (http://hermes.cecid.org/en/latest/installation.html#prerequisite).

You can change the default password in tomcat-user.xml as described in the documentation.

Hermes is tested and run on MYSQL/Postrgres/Oracle + Apache Tomcat + Windows/Linux platform. Please try to find the root cause of the HTTP status code 401. Is it come from other modules in the system such as Windows Server, HTTP proxy/server, ...etc. If the problem still cannot be solved, you may try to troubleshoot the problem by replacing the WebLogic by Tomcat.

Hope the above little suggestion can help! If you require further help, please feel free to ask again.

Best Rgds,
Kenneth

Hi Kenneth,

Many thanks for your reply.  Unfortunately we cannot replace WebLogic with Tomcat for various reasons.  On re-checking, the initial HTTP error I get is Error 403 - does that make any difference?

Kind regards,
Nicola

I don't know much about Weblogic, but I believe the equivalent of tomcat-users.xml in WebLogic is something like:

Dear Nicola,

HTTP 403 may due to forbidden access to some folder/files in system. Please make sure all the folder/files of Hermes (e.g. logs/, corvus/....) are accessible by the Weblogic server.

Best Rgds,
Kenneth
