Nature Walk Along the Shilonda Trail

14 September 2025, Sunday
Time 06.45am to 11.30am
Meeting Point: SGNP Main gate, Borivali East

With the monsoon going strong, the SGNP forest is gleaming with fresh, green cloaks all across the landscape and the streams are at their sparkling best. And no wonder then that insects, spiders, frogs,  reptiles, birds etc. all have arrived in full force and this is amongst the best times to be in the forests.

Join BNHS naturalists as they lead you along the hugely popular Shilonda trail. This peaceful trail starts along the plains just before the Kanheri foothills and winds along gently into a good long hike heading northwards. The trail reveals the gradual gradation in the vegetation: from scrubland at the beginning to dense, tall semi-evergreen forest ahead.
