Hi:

I think it is very important to have an evaluation meeting and see what lesson we have learned and see what we can pass on to the next committee.

Since we already set the date for our committee luncheon on 2/23 at 12:30 pm. How about we have our evaluation meeting at 9:30 am in CEC?

We also need to review the finance report? I believe Suanne is working on it.

I have a MMT meeting in the morning on 2/23 so I won’t be able to make it.

 

But I might be available this Friday, 2/15  if Pastor Siu does not need me to be there for the Elder Candidates Training.

 

But next Friday is our Elder Bible Study meeting. I cannot miss it again since I missed it last time because of our committee meeting.

O.K. if after the lunch on 2/23 is good for everyone. I will be with you all. I just need to get started my sermon preparation earlier on Monday. But always, Saturday afternoon and evening are important to me.

 

An encouraging news is that this retreat went so well, pastoral staff is thinking maybe we shall go back to our retreat every year. So I need to listen to your opinion. In addition, we need to start to plan to next retreat and recruit more new and young co-workers, etc.

 

Our retreat schedule also affect college retreat. So I need to be there to be with you.

 

Another alternative is to have it on weekday that we love to host you again.

 

I will try my best to accommodate you schedules since you all are such wonderful people to work with. J

BTW who has the evaluation forms?  Should someone compile the results before we have our meeting?  I think it maybe my responsibility as the secretary or handbook person.

Hi, all,

I was wondering, what are your thoughts on how to reimburse Allan chin registration fee.  Senia wrote a check for her, Allan and their son Thomas. Since allan did not attend the retreat, his portion should be reimbursed. I can ask senia to rewrite her check to reflect her and Thomas, I just return her first check. What would you recommend? Please let me know.

I did ask Senia about this today in the office. She insisted not to refund to them. She said that it would be like open a can of worms if we refund to people with good reasons.

 

For Allen Chin, because Allen has been very busy at the work, he could not go to the retreat.

 

We can discuss about it in our evaluation meeting.

 

I really want to refund to those who could not come. But at the same time, I agree with Senia. If we refund to people, then next time it will be hard to control the attendance. People may not take registration that serious since we open a door for them to get refunds.

 

Anyway, we can talk about in our next meeting.

 

As for Senia, she’s perfect all right if we decide not to refund to them.

I was wondering, maybe you can bring it up at your pastoral staff meeting on Tuesday. I would like to know what pastor Steven Siu thinks regarding this issue. 

I do agree that we should refund the ones that did not come at all.

The Retreat Committee can solely make a decision on this. Usually we, the pastoral staff and the elder council honor the decisions made by the respective group and people who are in charge and responsible to certain activities and program unless there are some bigger issues needs to be considered or involved in the decision-making.

 

Besides, Pastor Steven Siu will be on vacation next week. So he won’t be in the office next week.

 

Let us talk about it and make a decision then in the meeting.

 

I am more concerned about others, not Allen Chin since I talked to Senia today in the office about this. She said that she insisted not to refund to her. So we need develop a policy on this refund process.

I think we can refund it. My logic is this:

1) If we don't meet the minimum, the church has to pay the minimum anyway

2) The campsite charge us what we told them as of Saturday morning 10:30 am.

I am in the process of updating 2013 church retreat financial statement for our Tuesday's meeting, if you haven,t given me your reimbursements or a copy of receipts today at church, please email me the amount and category used for, like for example: registration supplies, so I can have it on the statement.

If you can email back no later than Monday night, that would be great.

When you get a chance, would you please let me know how much total financial aid was used and paid out. Did any youth advisors apply for financial aid, and was the amount paid subtracted from adult early bird price or from all youth price. Please let me know if this makes any sense to you.
