The Performing Media Festival, now in its 10th year, brings together a dynamic lineup of innovative composers, media artists, performers, and technologists for three days of concerts, screenings, and immersive live sets across the city of South Bend. Featuring 36 works by over 40 artists, the festival showcases both emerging voices and internationally recognized artists working at the cutting edge of interdisciplinary creative practices.

This year’s program includes a media reel at the South Bend Museum of Art, an eclectic opening‑night concert, a special guest artist recital featuring David Bird and Beyond This Point, a night of (mostly) black & white media at the Browning Cinema, screenings and an artist panel at the St. Joe County Public Library, and a evening of boundary‑pushing live sets at Langlab. From gesture‑controlled sound environments and real‑time video synthesis to multisensory works addressing ecology, memory, identity, and technology, the festival highlights how contemporary artists are redefining the relationships between sound, image, embodiment, and digital tools.

Across its venues, the Performing Media Festival offers audiences an opportunity to experience today’s most compelling experiments in media performance from delicate minimalist meditations to high‑voltage audiovisual improvisation, while fostering conversation, collaboration, and community. It is a celebration of the artists who shape the future of multimedia performance and a platform for exploring the evolving language of sound and image in the 21st century.

Please see the full program listed below and learn more at www.performingmediafestival.com

I hope you will join us if you are able.
