Good afternoon,

I’m reaching out to share an upcoming online event being held by the King’s Institute for Artificial Intelligence on music and AI. It is being led by Dr Robert Laidlow who recently joined the Department of Music at King’s College London as an AI+ Fellow.

The Many Faces of Creative AI in Musical Composition and Performance

Date and time: 14.00 – 15.00 GMT, Wednesday 28 January 2026

Location: online via MS Teams

Registration: via King's event page

Series: AI Frontiers

Abstract: Dr Robert Laidlow will address the current relationship between music and artificial intelligence, looking back on the long and productive history between the two fields before the recent large language model (LLM) boom, and ahead to the future(s) of human-computer creativity.

It would be great to see you and your networks in attendance.

Many thanks,

Jess
