Dear Colleagues,
We are pleased to announce the first edition of napoliGROUND, a 10-day international hub for sonic arts and intermedial experimentation, taking place in Naples (Italy) from May 9 to 19, 2026.
As part of this overarching event, we are currently inviting contributions for two major interconnected initiatives. We welcome submissions from researchers, composers, performers, and sound artists worldwide.
1. SPaMEC 2026 (San Pietro a Majella Electroacoustic Conference) – International Call for Papers

- Theme: "SOUND · CROSSING · COMMUNITIES".
- Dates: May 15-16, 2026, at the "San Pietro a Majella" Music Conservatory in Naples (Italy).
- Focus: The conference interrogates the reticular complexity of Sonic Arts, exploring electroacoustic production as a relational process.
- Categories: Long Papers (6-8 pages) and Short Papers (2-4 pages).
- Publication: All accepted works will undergo a Double-Blind Peer Review and be published in the official proceedings of "I Quaderni del San Pietro a Majella" (with ISBN).
2. Marginale II, Transmedia Arts and Electronic Music Festival – International Call for Works

- Focus: An experimental and electronic music festival aiming to explore participatory methods in improvisational practices.
