Hello CIRMMT community,

This is a reminder regarding the BionicEAR study. We're still looking for more participants. Please find more information in the message below.

--------------------------------------------
Dear potential participant,

Have you ever used a noise-cancelling headset or earbuds? Now, picture that same device but with an intelligent twist: it recognizes your specific auditory needs by understanding your brain and muscle signals. Our team is developing a smart hearing device capable of decoding auditory attention using electroencephalogram (EEG). As a first step, we are collecting EEG signals while participants engage in various auditory listening tasks.
The data collection will be held at one of the labs at CIRMMT. The duration of the study is approximately 2-2.5 hours (1 hour of 6*10 min recording sessions with breaks in between).
To participate, you must be 18 years or older and can understand English. All data will remain anonymous throughout the process. You will be compensated $25/hour for your time.
Please sign up if you are interested in participating:
The listed timeslots are approximate. You may specify a specific time that works best for you. If you have any questions, you can reach the research team at yiche...@mail.mcgill.ca.
Thank you for your consideration, and feel free to share this invitation with others who may be interested.

This study has been approved by McGill Research Ethics Board #24-07-059, and is conducted under the supervision of Prof. Cooperstock.
