Introducing NUM + Seas Coming for Me (free Bandcamp download codes)

Hello everyone,

We’re new to the CEC Conference mailing list and we’re pleased to introduce ourselves and share one of our recent projects with the electroacoustic community.

We’re NUM (Maryam Sirvan & Milad Bagheri), an Iranian-born sonic arts duo based in Calgary, Alberta (founded in 2010). Our work explores the intersections of voice, electronics, field recording, improvisation, and emerging technologies through electroacoustic composition, audiovisual performance, and sound installation.

Our recent album, Seas Coming for Me, was recorded at the National Music Centre (Studio Bell) with support from Calgary Arts Development. The work explores fear, uncertainty, memory, and displacement through voice, electronics, and the woodwinds of Dr. Jeremy Brown. Throughout the recording process, we had the rare opportunity to work with several of Studio Bell’s iconic vintage synthesizers and electronic instruments, bringing them into dialogue with voice, woodwinds, contemporary electronic processing, and free improvisation.
