Call for Applications - Composers, Performers, & Sound Artists application deadline: Sunday February 1, 2026 @ 11:59 PM EST

 

SPLICE Institute is a week-long, intensive summer program for sound artists, performers, and composers to experience, explore, interpret, and create music for performers with electronics. Apply now for SPLICE Institute 2026, which will take place June 21-27.  

Location: Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, MI

SPLICE Institute 2026 Features: 

      Introductory, intermediate, and advanced workshops – open to ALL participants – on a variety of musical topics and technologies, including live performance with technology, Max, signal processing basics, aesthetics, SuperCollider, TouchDesigner, and more.  

      Performances by guest artists, SPLICE faculty, and performer participants. 

      Presentations by Institute guests and panels on performing and composing with technology. 

      Masterclasses by guest artists on topics related to their areas of specialization.  

      Three admission categories

○    New-Work Artists will collaborate with another composer or performer participant, or attend as a composer-performer. These artists will create and premier a new work at SPLICE Institute. 

○    Ensemble Artists will participate in one of SPLICE’s awesome improvisation ensembles and present a joint concert during SPLICE Institute. 

○    Workshop Artists will participate in a variety of workshops and other activities.

SPLICE Institute 2026 fees are as follows: $750 for New-Work Artist composers and performers, $600 for Ensemble Artists, and $400 for Workshop Artists. SPLICE Institute offers numerous scholarship opportunities including scholarships specifically for parents, and for individuals who identify as woman, non-binary, genderqueer, Black, person of color, or indigenous. Additional scholarship opportunities are available and may be contingent on the recipient assisting with production and/or administrative tasks.

New release!

Τhe Hellenic Electroacoustic Music Composers Association (HELMCA) has just released the “Days 2025” edition.

 The “2025” edition includes 37 of the works of the members who participated in the “Electroacoustic Music Days 2025” festival, which took place between October 17-19, 2025, at the Kemperio Theater of the Municipal Theatre of Ioannina. 

The edition is part of the “Days” series and aims to capture the dynamics and the wide spectrum of approaches in the field of contemporary electroacoustic music creation by composers who come from or live in Greece.

Bilingual booklet with composer bios and program notes is included.
