Is this group still alive? Anyway, just wondering if anyone is
tinkering with the android platform of late. Share your experiences. :)

I know of several people interested in doing Android development. I,
for one, am doing
it already. I'm doing some algorithmic fun now with android, with the
prospects of developing
it into a full game in the future.

If we can reach about 10 persons, our company might even be able to
sponsor a meet-up of some sort
for those programmers interested in doing android development.

I already have a simple Gimik tracker app.

My frustration with Android is it's UI development (I don't know the
right term yet). Laying out simple forms on the screen is very tough.
And there's no way to get rid of the curved edges on the form
elements. A solution I found was to skin your app (i.e. Use better
images as the background of your form elements).

What apps have you guys been developing?

Btw, has anyone been experiencing deployment problems with 2.3? I
tried running my apps on the 2.3 emulator and the emulator won't load
at all! Then I get an error of a forced termination. Murag
nagrecession and android 2.3. lol

With regards to jobs. I only found a few start-up companies that
require it.
