Greetings from NISAU,
As the UK's national representative body for Indian students and alumni, we collaborate closely with universities, government bodies, and sector stakeholders across both India and the UK to support students throughout every stage of their international education journey.
With Fall 2026 approaching, we wanted to reach out personally to share an opportunity that we believe will be of genuine value to your students who are preparing to begin their further studies in the United Kingdom.
As you will know, this is an exciting but often overwhelming time for students. Even the most well-prepared among them carry a great many questions – about visas, accommodation, finances, life in the UK, and what comes after graduation. We find that access to honest, peer-led guidance at this stage makes a meaningful difference to how confidently and smoothly students settle in.
With this in mind, NISAU is hosting the next edition of #AskNISAU on 16 May 2026 – a free, live, national pre-departure session that brings together current UK students, recent graduates, and domain experts to answer prospective students' questions openly and in their own words.
This is a fully independent session - there are no agents or recruitment interests involved. Your students will hear directly from current UK students, alumni, and subject experts who will provide an honest, firsthand account of what the UK journey actually looks like, from application through to career pathways after graduation.

Since its launch, #AskNISAU has been attended by over half a million viewers, and has become one of the most trusted pre-departure resources for Indian students heading to the UK.
Why this matters for your institution
This session is designed to directly support your students at one of the most critical stages of their international education journey – addressing the challenges they most commonly face in the lead-up to departure:
Student confidence → smoother transitions. Direct engagement with current UK students and alumni reduces uncertainty and builds genuine readiness ahead of arrival
Pre-arrival clarity → fewer complications on the ground. Reliable, up-to-date guidance on visa processes, accommodation, and what daily life in the UK actually looks like
Regulatory clarity → students who arrive prepared. Authoritative guidance on UK immigration requirements, work entitlements, and student responsibilities from day one
Early orientation → stronger outcomes. Practical insight into employability pathways, part-time work opportunities, and post-study options under the Graduate Route
In essence, this serves as a scalable extension of your institution's student support and pre-departure framework, delivered at an international level.
What students will gain
A grounded and realistic understanding of student life in the UK
Practical guidance on accommodation and the settling-in process
A clear explanation of the Post Study Work visa and available career pathways
Current updates on UK immigration regulations and compliance requirements
Insights into part-time work and broader employability opportunities
Guidance on funding, scholarships, and financial planning
All guidance is delivered by those who have lived the experience themselves – offering the kind of first-hand perspective that complements the excellent support your institution already provides.
How you can leverage this
We would encourage your institution to share this opportunity with anyone who is interested in studying in the UK (or perhaps more generally, interested in studying abroad and considering their options).
This can be promoted through numerous channels including:
Official student email communications
Departmental or placement cell WhatsApp groups
International office or career guidance notice boards
Institutional social media platforms
To facilitate outreach, we have developed a ready-to-use marketing toolkit comprising email copy, creatives, and captions:

This is a high-impact initiative designed to complement your institution's existing student support efforts and ensure that your students arrive in the UK informed, confident, and well-prepared to succeed.
We would be pleased to align messaging with your international office or placement cell, and are happy to explore how this initiative may be integrated into your broader UK outreach strategy.
Warm regards,
Anu
