Some months ago I needed a small keyboard and bought an Okion KM229 without noticing that it has no Home or End key. This makes it tricky to type as I'm so used to using these keys. I haven't yet figured out if there is a key combination that issues Home and End keystrokes. Does anyone have experience of these keyboards and know how to issue those keystrokes? The keyboard is used on a PC running Windows XP.
Wikipedia suggests that Home and End keystrokes are issued with Fn-Left and Fn-Right on some limited size keyboards. However, although this keyboard has a Fn key, using it with the left and right keys does not produce the Home and End actions.
Your best shot, in lieu of finding out if your keyboard has a proper key combo for this, is probably to use a program such as AutoHotkey to assign a key combination as a hotkey for the Home and End keys.
Autohotkey also has a "compiler" that can convert a script into an executable by bundling the script and interpreter together so that you only have one thing to execute and don't need to install AutoHotkey on every machine. You could simply have your compiled script on a USB key.
I had the same problem admittedly with a crappy Chinese imitation of an Apple mini keyboard (there literally is no model or manufacturer identifier on it whatsoever). I used AutoHotKey to map Win-x to End, and Win-z to Home. I had to do a bit more work to @Mokubai's answer in order to make Ctrl-End, Shift-End, and Ctrl-Shift-End work though:
Solutions for Windows 10This is not relevant to the original question but like me, many users will reach here who are Windows 10 users too. There is a simple solution for them in the shape of Microsoft PowerToys. You can remap any key combination with any other. So give it a try.
AutoHotkey is the simplest solution to this. It took me a while to find the right mapping for my keyboard and I thought this was a good place to share it. (Thank you Ilan for showing the CTRL and SHIFT combinations.)
My Dell Precision 7510 laptop does not have dedicated Home and End buttons but it does have dedicated PrtScr and Insert buttons (like this). Because I normally use an external keyboard and I regularly use my Print Screen key I needed a way to toggle that button between being Print Screen and Home when using the laptop keyboard. Building upon the example from Iian, I setup Win+Print Screen to toggle the override.
You do not need fancy Autotype scripts (or anything extra) for this. Just press and hold Ctrl, then use your chosen shortcuts for home or end. In my case, after using Powertoys as above:Ctrl+Win+left takes the cursor to start of document, andCtrl+Win+right takes the cursor to end of document.
If necessary you can install them in any program that allows you to customize keyboard shortcuts. In Word 2003 for example, this is under Tools > Customize > Keyboard (where the required shortcuts are present by default, but you can add to them if so desired).
ON my brand new computer I made this same discovery and I used the HOME and END keys a lot to go to the beginning or end of a document.I found thatctrl + fn + arrow RIGHT key goes to the endctrl + fn + arrow LEFT key goes to the beginning
Backlit keys light up when your hands approach the keyboard and automatically brighten or fade to suit your environment. More backlighting customizations are available in Logi Options+Requires Logi Options+ app, available for Windows and macOS.
MX Keys Mini follows your Flow technology enabled MX Anywhere 3S or MX Master 3S so you can work across devices and operating systems in Logi Options+. The app also allows you to change Fn key functions, customize backlighting, assign app-specific profiles and Smart Actions shortcuts to optimize nearly every aspect of your workflow.
So I've had my new M1 16g Mac mini for about 3 weeks now. a few days ago I noticed that when typing (whether it be google, safari, an email ect. the typing response/lag is horrendous. a few seconds. then all of a sudden all the letters will come out of nowhere. i tried turning off the keyboard and mouse and turning them back on. I tried restarting, I ended up completely shutting the computer down for a few minutes then starting back up and it fixed the issue for what seemed to be 12hours ..... I'm super P*ssed. does anyone have similar issues with the new M1's? do i need to send this thing back?
Hello everyone, I have had a mac m1 for around 1 month and I am disappointed. The last fix made things worse, my mac is slowing down. Typing on the keyboard is awfully slow since the patch. I have an imac and a macbook pro since 2012 and 2013 I am not disappointed but the mac mini m1 it disappointed! I specify I have the official keyboard and the official mouse. Little more if we do not restart the mac, after several days the icon pixelates enormously.
I'm going on 3 weeks and I've started lagging a great deal (on hold waiting for support about it right now). I have 3 windows of Safari open, messages, and Fantastical calendar running on dual monitors (USB-C/HDMI). Cannot scroll the mouse across the screen without constant chopping. Two weeks ago I was shouting how fast this little thing was now I'm considering returning it if I can't get this figured out.
Same problem here. Started with Magic Mouse / Keyboard. Now on MX Master 3 / MX Keys first via Bluetooth, now via Dongle but still choppy now and then. Very annoying... Turned off bluetooth, wifi but no change.
I have the same issue. Latest update does not change the fact that after 12 hours their is a serious lag between pressing the keyboard and seeing the character appear on the screen. It is unacceptable and the only solution is to robot the computer which seems to indicate either a race condition or memory leak somewhere.
I have an external SSD drive that I decided to put directly next to the Mac Mini, basically blocking a bit of the bottom of the mini and that's when bluetooth went all crazy - dropped my keyboard and mouse connections.
I've had my M1 Mac for about four weeks now. Magic Mouse and Apple bluetooth keyboard were working great until today. Magic Mouse is working fine. Keyboard latency slowed down to recognizing one keystroke about 2-3 seconds afterwards, and then stopped all together. I tried the shutting down the Mac and restarting, shutting down Bluetooth and restarting, forgetting the device and reconnecting, still nothing. So I am now using the Magic Mouse and a wired Dell Windows keyboard with no problems. I do have my trusty old wired mouse handy just in case... Really frustrated that Apple hasn't figured this out yet!
My first time moving to a Mac thinking everything is going to be smoother, instead it lags all the time. My keyboard and mouse are connected via usb so its not a bluetooth issue. I don't understand how it can work effortlessly on a windows PC but its having these issues with a premium new M1 Mac Mini!
I have exact issue. 16g M1 MacMini. Purchased about 4 weeks ago along with new keyboard, mouse etc. After a day or so of uptime, it lags very badly and I get a small white box above the typing that has both numbers and some non english characters. I have switched BT keyboards from my iMac and have same issue. Obviously the iMac does not have the problem. I've done as you have by turning the keyboard off and back on. Only temporary fix is a reboot. I'm at a loss but suspect someday there will be a system upgrade and magically, it will go away. The sooner the better. I have had many Macs and other than hardware failures, I have been extremely lucky and have had little or no "system" or app related issues. What makes this issue frustrating is the lag time between a reboot and the lagging returning. Makes troubleshooting very painful.
Rotate the product in all directions and zoom in closer. To position the 3D model live and in color within your own workspace, click on "Place product in the room" and scan the QR code with your smartphone/tablet camera; with mobile devices, the click is enough. The product is then projected into your own environment as a digital element using augmented reality (AR) - without any download or special app.
For example, you can connect the small wireless keyboard to your computer at home via the included nano USB receiver, use it as a Bluetooth keyboard for your tablet when you are in a caf, and use the included cable to connect the mini keyboard to your PC in the office. Using the F1 to F4 keys, you can switch between the different transmission channels in seconds and work on the end device of your choice. The included carrying case made of recycled plastic ensures that nothing gets damaged.
With the detachable USB-A to USB-C cable, you can not only connect the KW 9200 MINI to an end device, but also use it to recharge the keyboard at the same time. Incredibly practical: You can continue to work and simultaneously charge the compact keyboard with multi-device function. The integrated lithium battery lasts for weeks. When it's time to charge, the status LEDs on the mini Bluetooth keyboard let you know by starting to flash.
The compact dimensions of the Bluetooth keyboard with multi-device function are an advantage when working on the go: Since it takes up very little space, it also makes your desk look immediately tidier in the office or home office. The CHERRY compact keyboard is also impressive from an ergonomic point of view. Since there is no numeric keypad on the right side, your mouse arm is closer to the keyboard, which means you automatically adopt an optimized shoulder posture and can minimize tension. To adjust the angle of the mini keyboard, simply fold out the stable feet.
My Mini 110-1100 keyboard is acting strangely. Most of the time, certain keys will not register as being pressed. Space bar, the left shift key, t, y, [, ], z, x, c, v, and m all do not work when this happens. Sometimes (rarely) all keys will work from boot. In addition, when it's not working properly. after using it for a few hours or so, the keyboard will randomly work. I'm assuming it is a software problem as opposed to a hardware issue because of this. I am running XP Service Pack 3, with all available updates. I have also tried reinstalling both the keyboard and touchpad driver.
