Dear colleagues –

We are pleased to announce five bits of news:

  1. The central office of the Illinois School Psychology Internship Consortium (ISPIC) will be moving from Illinois State University to The Chicago School as of July 1, 2025. The website will transition from ISU’s website to The Chicago School’s in Spring of 2026 at the close of recruitment season. ISPIC will continue to be sponsored by all four doctoral programs in Illinois. The Chicago School has a unit devoted to accreditation processes which will support the program going forward.
  2. We have hired a new and full-time training director – Dr. Gina Bartucci-Andriusis, a graduate of Loyola University and an ISPIC alum. While she will not report to me directly, I will have weekly contact to mentor her into this new role. We are very excited and believe the consortium will thrive (and expand) under Dr. Bartucci-Andriusis’s leadership!
  3. Despite the program’s compromised accreditation status, we successfully recruited 8 interns for the cohort of 2025-2026. Thank you to those universities who continued to entrust students to us!
  4. APA reviewed our self-study at its April meeting, and we received word last week that we have been approved to schedule a site visit in Spring 2026!
  5. The hearing to appeal the CoA’s decision to “voluntarily withdraw” the program will occur on July 25. Knowing we have approval to schedule our site visit has eased some of the pressure for a positive outcome.

Thank you all again for your encouragement and support!

Warm regards,

Brenda Huber, PhD, ABPP

Chair, School Psychology Department

The Chicago School
