NEWS

An Important Announcement from the Colorado Swing Dance Club

With hearts full of gratitude and a lifetime of beautiful memories, the time has come to announce that the Colorado Swing Dance Club will be closing its doors after 27 incredible years at the Denver Turnverein. Our final dance will be held on Friday, July 3rd.

Looking back, we are overwhelmed with thankfulness for the thousands of dancers, students, and friends who have shared the floor with us over nearly three decades. Together, we’ve been a proud part of all 11 Denver Lindy Exchanges, hosted countless unforgettable live band dances, and grown through inspiring workshops and competitions. It has been an absolute privilege to be a cornerstone of your dance journey, and we treasure every single moment, song, and smile we’ve shared.

As this chapter closes, we kindly ask you to continue pouring your passion and energy into our beautiful local community. Please keep supporting the other fantastic swing venues in Colorado, as well as the wonderful weekly dances hosted by the Denver Turnverein. We can't wait to see you out on the floor at future events!

Please come share a dance and a memory with us during our final weeks. Our remaining schedule is:

  • June 5

  • June 12 (Balorado!!)

  • June 19

  • June 26

  • July 3rd (Our Grand Finale)

Thank you for 27 years of rhythm, community, and joy.

Big Apple Workshop AND Flash Mob for the 1940s Ball!

Get ready to swing into the spotlight! Join our 3-week Big Apple Dance Workshop and learn the iconic swing-era line dance! The Big Apple is a high-energy social line dance choregraphed by Frankie Manning and was performed by Whitey’s Lindy Hoppers in the 1939 film, Keep Punching. Known for its synchronized movement and infectious spirit, it is a true staple of the swing community, spanning generations of Lindy Hoppers!

Taught by Lark Mervine over the course of 3 weeks (6 total workshop hours), you’ll learn the historic Big Apple routine, culminating in the opportunity to perform in a flash mob to live music by the legendary Glenn Miller Orchestra at the 1940s Ball on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at the Boulder Municipal Airport!*
