UTP Sustainable Resources Mission Oriented Research (SUREMOR) group leverages on the new emerging discipline in the 21st century that is “sustainability science” which derives impetus from the concepts of sustainable development and environmental science including the economic and social aspects of the subject matter. Sustainable development can be defined as the development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. SUREMOR aims to integrate researchers from various disciplines and promote multi-disciplinary research practices in particular sustaining our mother earth limited resources. SUREMOR not only harnesses science and technology research efforts but also focuses on environmentally sustainable human development. Therefore, SUREMOR also carries out outreach activities (as part of University Social Responsibility - USR) in the form of action research, whereby researchers from engineering, technological and humanities background are integrated in these activities.
