Hello Everyone,
I know there were some questions/concerns about the Teach NYC Scholarship and how many years you have to promise to work for them. At orientation someone had mentioned that they now count the summer as a year and therefore you would need to give them 6 years as opposed to 4. I had my interview on June 4th with a woman named Amelia... I specifically asked if I attend Mercy full time for 2 years including one summer, do I have to work for 4 years or 6 years? She said only 4. She explained that they view one year of grad school as fall, spring, and summer. So according to her and based on our program we would only have to work for 4 years:

2013-2014 Fall, Spring, Summer = 2 years of repayment
2014-2015 Fall, Spring = 2 years of repayment

I know that other people may have heard differently, but I just wanted to share the information I got!

Hope all is well,
Sharyn
