To Graduating Students,

I am attaching information regarding TSSLD certification. Please return the “Checklist” to me as well as a copy of your completed “Clinical Experience Requirements” form (which needs to be signed by your academic advisor).

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Dear Prof. Dicristofaro,
I am graduating May 2014. I am trying to fulfill all of the TSSLD requirements by the end of summer (with Language, Learning & Literacy being given in the Fall) . My question is: if I fulfill all of the requirements, but will not graduate/take the PRAXIS until Spring 2014, is it possible for me to apply to work at the NYC DOE in January. I will only have 2 classes left to take in the Spring so there will be conflict of time. My supervisor at Monroe Academy believes that I could do that, however, one of the requirements listed on your "checklist" was graduation. Thanks.

My understanding is that you need to complete all of the requirements before you can apply for the certification. This includes completion of a certified program. The regulations are also changing for May, 2014 so you probably won’t be ready anyway. I will be updating students re: the new regulations soon.
