Just a quick reminder that the CDC-Hubert fellowship application will
be open in just about a month! Here are some quick and dirty facts:
*Application Timeline for the 2012–2013 Program*
January 16, 2012 - Online portion of application opens
February 17, 2012 - Application deadline (midnight, EST for online
portion)
Supporting materials must be POSTMARKED by this date
April 16, 2012 - Selected applicants notified
July 1, 2012 - Fellowship year begins
September 1, 2012 - Fellowship projects begin (cannot go into the
field earlier than this date)
January 10–13, 2013 - MANDATORY Fellowship orientation at CDC
headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia (unless you're already out in the
field for your project)
*Please check your schedule and be sure you're able to attend the
mandatory orientation.
Also, while filling out your application be sure to only rank projects
available during times You're also available. Project dates cannot be
drastically changed.*
You can start Drafting your personal statement early but do not
complete it as we have specific questions that need to be answered
which will be made available once the application is open.
You can begin contacting recommendation letter writers to guarantee
they have ample time to complete and mail letters (no exceptions made
for applicants whose letter writers do not send materials in by the
postmarked date).
We also have specific areas we want your letter writers to address, so
please download the form on this page (http://www.cdc.gov/
HubertFellowship/AppInfo.html) and give them a copy. You will also
find the required Academic Endorsement form on this page if you want
to get that signed by your school and mailed in early.
Finally - a tip to guarantee all of your material makes it in on time:
Along with submitting your online application; if possible, gather
your academic endorsement and letters of recommendation (in signed and
sealed envelopes) and mail everything in 1 package (FedEx or the like
if you want to be able to track delivery) to us at:
