I am a veterinary student with a great drive to do public health work, specifically emerging and zoonotic diseases. However, I currently lack much experience. Do I bother applying for this fellowship? I have a global health project/experience starting after the application due date.
Thank you!

If it's something that interests you, then apply. The answer is
always no, unless you give it a shot.
Sounds like you're passionate about public health and vets have a
unique and different perspective than MDs. I'm not sure Erica Dueger
is able to have a fellow this year given the turmoil in Egypt, but
she's a DVM and awesome to work with! As long as you bring energy,
enthusiasm and a positive attitude to the job, you're going to be an
asset to the team.
Smiles,
Kimmie
