[ANNOUNCE] End of support for Java 7

Hello,

​Please be informed that

 CDAP will stop support for Java 7 at build and runtime starting with CDAP version 5.0 (release expected Q1 2018).

CDAP 5.0 will require Java 8 as the minimum Java version. The reason for dropping support is that Java 7 has been EOL by Oracle since April 2015 [1], and so does not have any security fixes or upgrades since then. We encourage all

​CDAP users

 to upgrade to Java 8 if they haven't already done so. Please reach out to us should you have any questions/concerns.
