Youlean (Julijan Nikolic) is also part of the FL Studio alpha team, and many of his work like Patcher presets and ZGameEditor Visualizer effects are already part of FL Studio. Why Youlean Loudness Meter?Once I learned about loudness metering using LUFS, I was really fascinated. The problem was that the plugins for measuring it were (and still are) really expensive and there were no free ones that can get you started.

Get results in just a few seconds!A/B statesCompare two totally different measurements in just one click.Export everything in PDF, PNG or SVG fileEasily export PDF, PNG or SVG of all your measurements.

In combination with system time coding, pinpoint the loudness problems in live events, or just make a wall poster of your favorite song!100% accurate meteringThe plugin is calibrated and tested against ITU-R BS2217 testing materials.

TPKnowing the true peak value is really important since it indicates the true maximum level of audio after conversion to analog or different digital form such as conversion from WAV to MP3. If your audio goes above 0dB TP you might get clipping in converted audio.Lifetime FREE updatesEvery PRO User gets lifetime FREE updates!

*For more answers go to the FAQ pageCan I install Youlean Loudness Meter on multiple computers? You can use the plugin on multiple computers as long as these are your personal machines and you are the only user.

This option is not applicable to companies, organizations or schools, they need to purchase a multiple license version. Can plugin alter the audio so that it fits the selected standard? No, currently the plugin is only doing the analysis, and it can not alter the audio loudness.

This feature might be added in the future though. Is there an EDU discount?Yes, if you are a student or a teacher you can qualify for an educational discount of 30%. You need to contact me before the purchase.

Online streaming services turn down loud music to ensure a more consistent listening experience. Our free Loudness Penalty Analyzer tells you how much your music will be turned down by YouTube, Spotify, TIDAL, Pandora and Apple's Sound Check. Dynameter helps you strike the perfect balance of loudness and dynamics, so that your music will sound great on any platform and have a minimal Loudness Penalty.

Dynameter displays a measurement called PSR - the difference between the peak level and the loudness. Higher PSR readings are typically found with more dynamic recordings, whereas heavily limited or clipped material usually shows lower PSR values. Dynameter measures the PSR in realtime, and also displays a colour-coded history graph, giving you an intuitive snapshot view of the dynamic profile of your music.

Dynameter's colour-coding makes is easy to tell how "healthy" your dynamics are. Simply stay in the green and blue and you're all set! If you find that your music dips into the red, brown or even grey, it may mean that your music has restricted dynamics, and that you should apply less compression or limiting. Dynameter's colour-coding was tuned based on 20+ years of mastering experience - it's like having your own personal Mastering Engineer right in your DAW!

The MPD must be configure to use peppyalsa with an additional output device (mpd_peppyalsa). Thats the best way that the original output stream is not changed and reformated to PCM, when DSD is used. Therefore a second entrypoint in asound.conf for the sound output is available (mpd_alsa) VOLUMIO used a template file, thats copied if the sound card or mixer type is changed.

Be sure you have installed the TouchScreen PlugIn before!
To install the peppy_screensaver plugin create a new folder in /home/volumio and copy the content of zip file and switch into this folder and run:

The last install script expand the touchscreen plugin with some GUI entries to select a meter, and add the lines for creation/delete of crontab entries, when you start play or pause.
You can select your active meter folder for your resolution after the right custom folder is copied. The set of screen resolution is only needed for the use of custom folder. If you use the standard folder (small, medium, large, wide) the screen resolution is ignored.
The needle cache is a new feature from peppy.player to prevent a memory leak from python. This use more memory so that the switch in random mode is faster and no calculation on every switch is needed. Please deactivate this feature on a Raspberry with 1GB RAM and a connected display with 1920x 1080 or 1280x800, otherwise the memory is overflow.
The new VU-Meter type list gives you the possibility to use not all available meters in one folder. Have you select the right folder and the settings are saved, press the info icon to see the list of available meters to copy and paste.

Thanks a lot to peppy.player for the excellent cooperation and his many adjustments to give me the possibility to create a VOLUMIO integration without changes of original code, an important requirement to create a plugin for an easy installation.

Hello, may i ask if is possible to make little bit quicker response of needle as you have ? For me it looks little bit lazy, maybe some modification is needed, or parameter set. I am on Raspi 4 Many thanks
Ed

mvMeter is a multivariable meter including RMS, EBUR128, VU and PPM measurement. mvMeter2 is the successor of mvMeter and adds single/dual meter display, adjustable reference level for all meter modes, adjustable meter delay and preset management.

This new metering plugin is built upon a mixing and mastering technique that involves comparing the input signal (your mix) with a reference level, then through some dynamics analysis a difference between that ideal behaviour and your mix is displayed giving you insight on how your mix will behave when mastering process is applied.

The signal that flows through the plugin is first normalized to a known level so that you should not worry about the input level, your mix is then fed to some filters to shape it and make it similar to our reference. After that step the plugin compresses and limits your mix to compare its behaviour to the one we have recorded, ideally the should be the same.

I've been using the plugin for a couple of days and I have to say I'm impressed! It can easily be used to set the initial levels balance for your track or to check the overall balance for your already mixed ones. Here is how I did to set the initial level balance: select the busiest section of your track and start the level balance by bringing instruments up one at a time and paying attention to the Coherence meter. Make sure it always stays at 0 or around this value. It also makes wonders together with the LU Meter plugin which I've been using for initial gain staging. 5 Stars plugin! Thank you HoRNet!

Hi, with volumio3 i dont have the path you mention. mine is /data/plugins/user_interface/peppyMeter/ i tried to creating a custom_1 dir and wget the 3 files there. uncompressed the files but its not listed in the plugin meter scolldown menu.
Also trying to create the same /data/plugins/miscellanea/peppy_screensaver/peppymeter/custom_1 path it dosnt work for me. any hints ?
thanks

Just came back from Thailand and had my friend make me an enclosure for a 7.9" waveshare touch screen (1280x400). Everything works as expected. However, the screen is a bit too bright in my room especially at night. Is there a script that I can adjust the brightness?

The Super Meter is a unique way to visualize the three most important measurements of your sound. Loudness (LUFS), dynamics (TrueDyn), and peaks (True Peak). The outer rim displays short-term measurements (3-second time span) for a real-time feel of your music, whereas the inner rim displays integrated measurements (from the beginning of your recording).

The classic LUFS meter will show you the LUFS momentary (400ms), LUFS short term (3s), and LUFS integrated values of your signal.

The LUFS momentary value gives you an instant representation of your material's loudness level, whereas the LUFS integrated value represents your average loudness from the beginning of the recording. The goal is for your LUFS integrated value to settle on your LUFS target value before delivering your material.

The LUFS Histogram represents your music's loudness (LUFS) and short-term dynamics (TrueDyn) over time. It is the best way to compare different parts of your songs and see how their loudness and dynamics evolve and compare to one another. You can also see if your material exceeded your True Peak Max limit with red alert dots.

VU Meters will help you manage your recording levels and avoid overloading, distortion and help you hit your digital converters at their sweet spots by calibrating the meter's 0VU level accordingly. The needle's momentum is set to approximate the human ear response and is well known to be the most 'musical' metering system.

Having access to a real-time frequency analyzer allows you to compare your music to reference material or pinpoint issues such as problematic resonating frequencies or frequency build-ups throughout your mix. Additionally, you can easily zoom in on the left part of the spectrum for better precision at the low frequencies.

Before the LUFS norm got into the picture, levels were calculated using the RMS standard. This is the typical gauge we are all used to because this is what we use on every track of every DAW. It is still very practical and straightforward. Plus, this module allows you to show your True Peak value, customize peak hold time constants or zoom into your dB scale for better precision.

Decibel's Phase Scope will show the correlation between your left and right channels. The module will help you identify mono signals and indicate when your stereo channels are out of phase. It will also visualize your stereo image and show if it leans to one side. As a general rule, the more scattered the dots, the more balanced your signal is. And it looks beautiful.
