I am out of running for 6-8 weeks, as my foot is broken.  I know how you felt, Antonio--this is no fun.  I will be walking the Race for the Cure next week very slowly.

I agree with you, Brie. The only life-or-death thing we should be worrying about in running is our own nerves about completing the race, not about whether a bomb will go off.
 
Jen, I'm glad your friend is OK, and I think you should do the GW Parkway race. Bravo to you for tackling two 10-milers so close together.

It is a horrible tragedy.  I am so glad that your friend and her family are all ok.  I know it is secondary, but I also feel bad for all the runners who were unable to finish.  I mean, Boston is such a dream race for people and to do all that training and not be able to finish is also sad.  Understandably, of course. 

I dont think that the GW Parkway Classic is a big enough race for someone to target.  I wouldn't be concerned, especially since security will be escalated.  I am more concerned with Antonio's NYC Marathon or even the upcoming Marine Corps.  Both of which draw huge, huge crowds and are covered extensively by the media.

Terrorist events are sad, we shouldn't have to worry about attending, or running, in our loved races.

The GW Parkway classic is (understandably) ramping up security for this weekend's race.  Is anyone running, besides me? If you are registered, are you considering bagging it because of security concerns?  I am on the fence.
