Hi, everyone.
First, congratulations to Charlotte and Roger on the birth of Leo!!! Great news that we will have another CCT RoadRunner among us!
Second, who wants to run tomorrow? Andy and I want to run long in preparation for Cherry Blossom/South Beach, and Jeffrey will follow us with water and nutrition, and we welcome anyone who wants to join us. If others want to do the usual loops, perhaps the 10 miler group can start a little earlier and we can all meet up at Booymongers.
Third, as most of you know, Prof. Jeanine Turner has been battling breast cancer this semester. While the prognosis is good, it has been a rough time for her. CCTers would like to show support by organizing a team for the Race for the Cure. Roz Koff and I are spearheading the effort, and Roz has made a Facebook page with info and a link to the CCT for the Cure team site. Prof. Lightfoot is on board, and as a result CCT will be providing custom designed team t-shirts featuring the message that Jeanine wants to get across, which is to get screened--which likely saved her life. The Race for the Cure 5K is on May 11 at 10 a.m. and I believe it begins in West Potomac Park. I hope that CCT RoadRunners will turn out for this important event and encourage others to join in the fun! Here is the link to the Facebook page:
