Apparently Collin has restricted all "@cougarmail.collin.edu" addresses from being able to post to outside groups - basically if its not managed by Collin College, you are  not allowed to be logged in and post from your cougarmail.collin.edu account.

Im emailing the Collin College sys admins to verify this - but if you were invited and joined with your cougarmail.collin.edu account you will be unable to post, as of now.  I hope to fix that, but as of now, we are out of luck.  You may want to consider starting a "throw away" gmail account like I have, just for use with these things for classes, and then delete it when we graduate if you like.

For example,  "A.Collier.RN" gmail  is what I am using exclusively for my school stuff outside of my regular email and outside of the school provided email. My "regular" email is a "permanent" gmail address that I have been using since Gmail was in beta (invite only), back in June 2004.  I tend to make "special purpose" spare accounts at gmail for things like this (or signing up for online games or forums or informal services, etc).

For those of you with privacy concerns, this might also be something you want to consider; just think up a snappy new name for your online nursing stuff, then go start a new google account (gmail) for it.  e sure to contact me with the new email, and I can drop your old membership and invite the new "special use" ID you create.
