tourney results and quick update

Hey team,

Sorry for the tardy response, but I tried and evidently failed to
use our Listserv (I still think I did it right, but if I failed again
Tom will post the message for me). We did great this past weekend at
Ohlone. Below are the results from the tournament, followed by some
information about next Wednesday's Speech Slam performances.

Both Evan and Aimee were one point away from breaking, which is
an accomplishment because the competition at this tournament was
tougher than normal. Aimee was competing against more than 50 entries
in Persuasion, took 2nd place in both her preliminary rounds, and they
still didn't break her. No justice!
Kat broke all 3 events, taking finalist in both Impromptu and
POI, and taking 2nd place in STE (maybe had she not spoken for 13
minutes in finals it would have been 1st!).
Michelle took 4th place in prose.
Angela observed at the tournament and said she enjoyed it and
learned a good deal.

Thanks to all for a great show today. If you weren't in class
today, and still have an intention/hope of performing at the next and
last speech slam, please e-mail Nathan ASAP to schedule a meeting
(nst...@ccsf.edu).
Since this next speech slam doesn't start until 2:30, we will
meet in our usual room (Cloud 258) and walk over to Rosenberg 304 at
around 2:00.
