CS Industry Advisory Meeting May 14

Dear Students,

On Tuesday evening the 14th we will have our annual industry advisory meeting, where tech employers come and give us their feedback on our curriculum, and tell us what else we should be teaching.  Students are invited to join us, to hear what they have to say.  Details on the meeting are below.

We also welcome feedback from students on how we're doing, but this meeting is not the place for students to give feedback and criticism of CCSF or the CS department.  Please bring that feedback to me as department chair, or other CS instructors.

Please let me know if you plan to attend Tuesday's meeting.

Dear Industry Partners, You're invited to the City College of San Francisco Computer Science Industry Advisory meeting on Tuesday, May 14 from 6:30-8:30pm at the CCSF Ocean Campus, Batmale 411.  Pizza, snacks, and soft drinks will be served. We're hoping you'll be able to come and help us to update our curriculum, and to build stronger connections with employers, to better meet your needs. Even if you can't make it for the meeting, please read the documents linked below and send me your feedback on our existing and proposed certificate curriculum. Here is the agenda and a document summarizing the certificates we currently offer. Feel free to invite others who you think would bring valuable perspective, particularly on the topics of Python and Data Science. Please RSVP by replying to this message.  For directions, it's best to use Google Maps directions to Havelock St & W Rd, San Francisco, CA 94112.  Parking is $3 at a self-service machine in the lot, or we can hand you a parking permit when you arrive (sorry, can't be emailed).
