PrEP Learning Collaborative

Hello everyone,

The California Prevention Training Center @UCSF PrEP Learning Collaborative and East Bay Getting to Zero are excited to announce the 2026 California PrEP Navigator Certification Training.

Join HealthHIV virtually on April 21st and 23rd from 9:30am – 1:00pm to earn the HIV PrEP Navigation Certification (HIVPNC). The HIVPNC is the only national certification program that prepares providers and allied health professionals to guide community members in initiating, using, and staying engaged in PrEP care.

This live virtual, two-day interactive program provides CA-based healthcare professionals with the knowledge, skills, and tools to deliver high-quality PrEP navigation by combining evidence-based strategies with practical application. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage in case-based learning, network with peers, and connect with leaders in the field, making this a unique opportunity to elevate or solidify your expertise and advance HIV prevention in your community.

Participants must attend both half-day events to earn the certification.

By successfully completing this free program, individuals will:

  • Demonstrate their commitment to delivering patient-centered PrEP navigation services
  • Develop skills to educate clients about PrEP and identify appropriate options
  • Help clients access and maintain PrEP through insurance navigation, financial assistance, and ongoing support specific to California
  • Earn the HealthHIV HIV PrEP Navigation Certification
  • Receive up to 5.0 CME/CE credits (CME, ABIM MOC, AAPA, NCPD, CPE, ASWB)
  • Receive a listing in the national online directory of HIVPNCs

Target Audience: This program is designed for PrEP navigators, disease intervention specialists, case managers, social workers, health educators, and other allied health professionals who support clients at risk for HIV. Physicians, PAs, NPs, nurses, pharmacists, and other clinicians involved in PrEP care are encouraged to participate.

About the HealthHIV HIV PrEP Navigation Certification™ Program

The HealthHIV HIV PrEP Navigation Certification™(HIVPNC) Program is the only certification program offered to providers and allied health professionals to prepare them to guide community members in their use of PrEP over time. HIVPNC promotes interprofessional collaboration and teamwork by engaging clinical and non-clinical providers to share their experiences in PrEP navigation services. By participating in this free, one-of-a-kind program, experienced providers will demonstrate their commitment to delivering patient-centered PrEP care and develop skills to assist patients in identifying appropriate PrEP, gain access to PrEP medications, remain adherent to PrEP, and navigate life changes that require changes in their PrEP care.

Upon successful completion of all modules in this program, participants earn their HIV PrEP Navigation Certification (HIVPNC) and receive a listing in the national online directory of HIVPNCs. Visit HealthHIV.org/HIVPNC to learn more. Note: Some of the content of this training will be specific to California.
