DANCE MOVEMENT THERAPY (DMT) – Tuning in to life’s rhythm

by Arpita Ghosh

Introduction and Demo Session on 2nd December, 2016 6.00 pm on wards

Workshop on 10th December 2016, 10.00 am - 2.00 pm

Concept:

Dance Movement Therapy is the psycho therapeutic use of movement to further the emotional, cognitive, physical and social integration of the individual. It is based on the premise that the body, mind and spirit are interconnected. The introductory session will present .a brief talk on introduction to DMT, it’s benefits and a short presentation and conclude with a demonstration... This will be followed by a workshop where we will actually go through an experiential process of using various movements to connect with the self, others and allow the body to respond and flow in rhythm.

This correlation between movement and emotion has several benefits.

1] Enhances self image

2] Team building & co-ordination

3] Leadership qualities

4] Building trust

5] Building Confidence and self –esteem

6] Stress buster

7] Emotional Release / Anger Management

8] General well –being

YOU DO NOT NEED TO KNOW HOW TO DANCE! JUST COME & EXPERIENCE.
