Hi everyone,
I will be taking a day away from PAWS tomorrow 10/27.
Please get in touch with Ginger if you have a cat emergency.
Also, one addition to Megan's email. Kitten season is usually about over at this time of the year. Be prepared, with the warm weather we had a few weeks ago we feel we could still get calls about young kittens through November, possibly into December!
We took in 3 kittens this past Sunday, just 1 day old. Their eyes will be opening in the next few days!
THANK YOU ALL for your time. Front desk vokunteers are PAWSOME!

Subject: Front Desk Updates 10/26/18
Hello all!
A few updates this week.
Heads up that I will be away tomorrow (Saturday, October 26).
Fonda's Foundlings and Stone Valley Pet Lodge: Reminder that we neither recommend nor disparage either of these organizations for cat surrenders. As far as we are aware, they are not accepting cats, so we do not want to encourage people to take cats to them, but we also do not want to speak badly of any rescue organizations in the area.
Dog Foster Showing Updates: The AC's, along with Kristen and Jeanette, met this week to talk about ways to improve foster showings. Here is the new showing info:
The first two Sundays after a transport, fosters will arrive at 11am and preapproved applicants can begin visiting the dogs at 11:15am. After the first two Sundays, fosters will arrive at 11:30am for preapproved showings. In both cases, non-preapproved applicants must wait until noon to be sent to the basement. The showing shift leaders will inform front desk volunteers each week whether we are doing a showing at 11:15 or 11:30. When in doubt about whether to send a visitor down to the basement, please radio the basement to ask first.
Bingo Tickets: These are now on sale at the front desk (as well as online).
Increase in cat rehoming requests: Karen and Lisa have asked us to be prepared for an increase in rehoming requests, especially for cats, as the weather gets colder. Please remember to always ask what county the caller is from before filling out the whole form.
Let me know if you have any questions!
Thanks,
Megan Tomkiel
