Hello fellow music ministers,
It's that time of the year again, when the leaves start to fall, days become shorter, and Christmas decor start welcoming you at the stores. Well, we'd like to pave the way for the Savior child 'cause that's how we kinda celebrate the meaning of the holiday season. Simbang-Gabi is our Filipino tradition of waking up in the crack of dawn as the cock crows (as if we were in a farm) to attend this Advent Dawn Mass also known as "Misa de Gallo" (or Mass of the Rooster in Spanish)! What better way is there to get in the spirit than to sing at Simbang-gabi? Are you ready?
If interested, come and join our Simbang-Gabi choir, under the direction of our new CCOP choir director, Ira Stein. Here's how to sign up:
1) Fill up the CCOP ministry sheet, if you haven't done so yet.
2) Then, email me (tlan...@yahoo.com) so we can include your name and email address in the roster this year. 3) And, finally, spread the word and invite a friend.
Keep in mind the following important dates:
Saturday, Oct. 20, 2014, 6:00 AM Simbang-Gabi Mass (tentative) at St. Augustine's Church
Friday, Oct. 19, 2014, 7:00 PM CCOP Christmas Concert at St. Elizabeth Seton Church
Mondays, Nov. 3 - Dec. 15, 7:00 PM Choir Practice at St. Augustine's Church
We are still organizing the music and worship aide, planning the breakfast, etc... so if you want to help out you are most welcome. If you have any questions, pls. contact me, Ira Stein, or Remy Carpizo.
Thanks.
Regards,
