Hi All,
I didn’t have a problem with HalionOne until I had a disk read error
on my (almost 9 year old) C: drive and had to replace it; reload my
operating system; and all my programs. After loading my auxiliary
programs and drivers I was ready to reload Cubase. I decided to go
from Cubase 4.0 to Cubase 4.5.x. When I thought I was ready to go –
HalionOne wouldn’t work and every time I attempted to load any
HalionOne preset I received the error:
"Some Audio File(s) could not be found" (xx samples).
Content File seems to be broken!
I found a link for a download* of Halion Sound Collection
(VST_Sound_Collection_Vol_I)** for Cubase 4.5.2. I thought that might
fix the problem. However, it didn’t. Although, it did include new
presets which did work. That gave me hope that it wasn’t a problem
with the actual HalionOne VSTi itself.
It took all night (although it didn’t have to), but HalionOne is back
in full and upgraded too! But along the way, I learned some things.
1. First of all when one loads Cubase 4.0 and directly upgrades to
4.5.X the original HalionOne sound files are not included in the
install. And the error above is the result.
2. Version 4.1 is the version that has the complete set of original
HalionOne sounds. When I originally upgraded from SX3 to Cubase 4.1
HalionOne was totally good to go.
3. The mistake was to go from 4.0 straight to 4.5.X. To get HalionOne
to where it should be: Follow the instructions on:
http://knowledgebase.steinberg.net/263_1.html
3a. Uninstall HalionOne
3b. Download and run the HalionOne Installer 1.1.0.0.exe (the link for
this is on the above page)
3c. All the original sounds are back
4. Also, there is a download for HalionOne which is called the Halion
Sound Collection (VST_Sound_Collection_Vol_I) for Cubase 4.5.2 which
works well with HalionOne.
