Dear colleagues
I am deeply saddened to report that our dear friend and colleague Michele Forsten, longtime director of communications at New York City College of Technology, passed away yesterday evening.
Michele was a wonderful writer and a champion for students and their stories in a career that spanned nearly three decades at City Tech, Lehman, and, in the 1970s, as an undergraduate student features editor at The Campus at City College, where we first met.
Outside of her CUNY world, Michele wrote courageously on gender issues and her experience as a breast cancer survivor.
Our deepest sympathy goes to Barbara, her spouse. Her family and friends will be sitting shiva at 59 W. 88 Street, #1R, for the next three days, from 2 pm - on.
