Provide a brief description of why you choose CCNH for your Natural
Health career.

I chose CCNH because I could study independently and at my own pace.
I wanted a more holistic approach to nutrition as well instead of the
standard dietetics route. It was also affordable for me when I began
the program.

I actually have my BS degree in Dietetics from Mount Mary College.
Half way into it I realized that they did not believe in much of what
i was self teaching myself on the holistic side. I did not become
registered because at that time it was against the code of ethics to
promote supplements. So I took a stint in a different direction and
became a firefighter and ran a foster care trasition home. Long story
short, I left all that to start a family and realized it would be a
good idea to get credentialed in something if I wanted to start a new
career once the kids are full time school. I enrolled in the MS/PHD
dual doctorate in Holistic Nutrition and hope to be done with my
masters this summer. I chose CCNH because I had to make a choice on
some kind of credential, certified nutritionist or a masters. I chose
the masters/CCNH route because I am more interested in teaching,
research, and long term crazy dream of my own health food store. But
in the mean time I would love to know how all of you plan to get
started in something, how you can promote yourself into a field
without having to start your own business--maybe a seperate topic.
