Does anyone know of anyway to seed the build number for a project. We
are just starting to use CruiseControl for our builds and I'd like to
use it to version our builds, but it's not very helpful if we have to
start our build number back at 1. I've been hunting in all the
config/xml files for where it might be storing the build label so I can
manually bump it up, but I've had no luck...

I feel like I must be missing something obvious since I can't even find
anyone else asking a similar question...

In the CC.NET server folder are <project_name>.state files. The last
build label is stored in there. You can just change that.

This is usually just one number. If you want to have builds that are of
the x.x.x (1.2.345) variety look into the various Labeller tasks,
specifically the DefaultLabeller and the <prefix> node.

At first when I tried the state file edit it didn't seem to be working
but then I bounced the ccnet service and kicked right in.

Thanks for the quick response Josh.
