Hey everyone,

In preparation for 2012, we're holding an organizational meeting this Wednesday morning at 8 am. We have some important topics to discuss including:

1. Moving to a new location/time - there is a proposal on the table to move meetings to the 3rd Thursday of the month at 12 noon; location: Natural Resources Building (615 E. Peabody, Room TBD, Champaign, IL 61820); Great news! We have an anonymous donor who would like to cater lunch for us at these noon time gatherings. Our goal is to include both the campus community, the business community and government representatives (e.g. city and county officials).

2. Expanding the scope of topics covered by this group to encompass the greater CCNET (what we now call Champaign County Sustainability Network) - There is a proposal on the table to start to cover a broader scope of topics under the sustainability umbrella: energy (renewables, conservation, green building), local food & farming, and transportation. There are pros and cons to this...come discuss!

3. Seeking additional leadership! - Keeping the group running, moderating meetings, organizing events and promoting local news/events has been a team effort. And it helps to have a few point people to keep us on track. Tim Montague will be stepping down in Feb 2012 (he's moving to Norway to be closer to his family), so we would appreciate interested persons in stepping forward to help organize and moderate future meetings/events.
