Hi

I use CCTray for monitoring the Cruise Control server on another computer. When I open the Status window for a project, i would like to have a description on the tasks - and if possible also a more descriptive name than just MsBuildTask or BuildPublisher.

Thanks in advance

Hi

every task has a "description' property in the config

you can check all the tasks at http://www.cruisecontrolnet.org/projects/ccnet/wiki/Tasks_and_Publishers

if you fill in that property in the config, that description should be shown.

with kind regards

Hi

I already tried that and restarted the Cruise Control server. But I did not get any change in the CCTray locally.

Is there a required order of elements in the config file?

Hi

no, the order should not be of importance.
are you running CCNEt 1.8.5?

Hi,

OK. I'll try to upgrade the server and tray locally when I get the time for it...

Thank you

Hi

My server was already running 1.8.5, and I have now upgraded my CCTray locally to 1.8.5. I still do not see the descriptions in CCTray.

HI

I'll have to look in the code,
I thought it was enabled

Hi

Turned out that I modified the wrong config file (blush)...

I do get the description returned to CCTray status window in the right side when selecting an item in the TreeView. However, is there a way to change the text that is added to the TreeView?

HI

not without changing the code, the description was meant as a tooltip, not as replacement for the task itself.
that couldĀ  also take a lot of screen real estate :-)

unless the would be a 'short' description introduced
