Dear Professor Menon,

I wanted to confirm if you are in receipt of the following mail, and if you could recommend students for our Telugu and Malayalam dictionary projects.

We are looking for candidates with good language skills and an interest in translation. We will provide training at the beginning of the project, so students may not worry about lack of experience.

Thank you,

Tanvi

Dear Professor Menon,

Hope this finds you well.

I am writing to you on behalf of Oxford University Press’s Oxford Global Languages (OGL) initiative, in my capacity as Content Manager of its programme titled Indian Languages Acceleration Programme (ILAP).

OGL began in 2014 with the aim to provide quality language data online for 100 of the world’s languages. ILAP, in particular, focuses on Indian languages. It creates digital bilingual dictionaries across languages, thereby according them with a presence in the digital landscape. You can read more about the programme here, as well as explore the websites and language communities that we have already launched.

In June, we started creating content in two Indian languages – Hindi and Tamil.  The next languages we would like to work on are Telugu and Malayalam. For this purpose, we are looking for Editors to work with us on a paid freelance basis for a period of 12 months.

It would be helpful if you could share the mail and the attached posters with your students and they could get in touch with me if the opportunity interests them.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Warm regards,

Tanvi
