Dear cclib developers,

thank you for providing cclib to the community in an open-source format. I would like to add a parser to cclib for Serenity, the quantum chemistry code of the Neugebauer group at the University of Münster, Germany, of which I am a PhD student. Assuming that my code turns out acceptable, would you agree to merge it with the main branch?

Best,

Lukas Paetow

Hi Lukas,

Thank you for your interest. It sounds like this would be an awesome addition to cclib! Have you already started development?

Cclib is transitioning from v1->v2 right now, and it would be ideal to do development for the v2 framework. However v2 is not yet feature complete and some helpful scripts such as ccwrite etc are not yet ported over.
It would be possible to port a v1 parser to v2 after development so no stress regarding this point.

If you would like guidance, feel free to reach out to one of our active devs (Eric Berquist https://github.com/berquist) (Shiv Upadhyay https://github.com/shivupa) (Amanda Dumi https://github.com/amandadumi)

We would all be happy to help!

Shiv
