Supply chain experts from JSI Research & Training Institute will discuss differences in supply chain management in stable health service contexts versus emergency response settings in a webinar on February 13 at 8:00 am US ET.  
 
The webinar is sponsored by the Building Capacity to Improve Pharmaceutical and Medical Commodity Management in Humanitarian and Disaster Settings program (supported by USAID OFDA). This program supports OFDA implementing partners to improve supply chain practices in their crisis response efforts.

You'll hear from Joseph McCord and Gregory Roche about differences in supply chain management in emergency response, and general practices and considerations for supply chain management of health commodities during humanitarian response.

Please join JSI Research & Training Institute's experts Joseph McCord and Gregory Roche on February 13th at 8:00 EST, 13:00 GMT, for a one hour webinar sponsored by the Building Capacity to Improve Pharmaceutical and Medical Commodity Management in Humanitarian and Disaster Settings program, funded by the USAID Office of Federal Disaster Assistance. This program supports OFDA implementing partners to improve supply chain practices in their crisis response efforts.

Objectives: Joe and Greg will introduce you to JSI’s Supply Chain Managers Handbook addendum Supply Chain Management for Healthcare in Humanitarian Response Settings, and discuss:
  • -- basic distinctions between supply chain management in a stable health service context and in humanitarian or emergency response settings, and
  •  
  • -- provide an overview of general practices and considerations for supply chain management of health commodities in the context of humanitarian response.
Audience: The information provided in the webinar is best suited for an introductory audience.

Project Background: In addition to this webinar, the Building Capacity to Improve Pharmaceutical and Medical Commodity Management in Humanitarian and Disaster Settings program aims to build the capacity of implementing partners (IP) to manage pharmaceutical and medical commodity (PMC) supply chains in humanitarian settings. The program objectives are to:
  • -- Develop training curriculum targeted for field-level IP staff, which incorporates best and promising supply chain practices
  •  
  • -- Conduct PMC supply chain capacity building activities, including three regional training workshops in 2020
  •  
  • -- Share humanitarian supply chain learnings with regional and global communities, and
  •  
  • -- Support partners to institutionalize better PMC practices into their policies and procedures.
