CEF DISABLE ON MPLS VPN

what will happen if we disable cef on interfaces connecting P----P
router .Will interface cef is required only for ingress interface from
PE-CE..??

CEF IS ENABLED GLOBALLY ON ALLL.IF its DISABLED ON ONE P---P
INTERFACE ,WHAT WOULD HAPPEN.:)

if it is a normal Pe to CE.. nothing is goin to happen.. if we have vrf lite.. and extended to CE. then we need to have cef enabled in ce

I guess CEF is must for MPLS on all PE/P router

surely.. for all PE and P's but not mandatory for PE to CE untill unless we have vrf lite

so if we have VRF LITE between PE-CE
than we don't require CEF

if don't enable a CEF it will work

wat i was trying to say is CEF in CE is mandate if we have vrf lite..

CE router you are not running MPLS.  CEF is must wherever you wanted to run MPLS. Right, VRF lite also needs CEF to be enabled

Yes, if CEF is disabled LDP neighbors would come down & hence all the
services running over it !!

For VRF-Lite CEF is required cos the routes received by router have to
be transferred to the VRF Routing table.

Now VRF can only be created if you have CEF enabled !!

Just boot a router with CEF disabled and VRF configured & look at the
POP up messsage !!
