Dear Members of CCIDPIP,

A recent multi-session conference initiated by the Council of Chairs of Training Councils (CCTC) entitled “Social Responsiveness in Health Service Psychology Training: Recalibrating Our Collective Mission,” focused on developing strategies to enhance diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of Health Service Psychology education and training.

As a follow-up to the conference, we are conducting a study to examine which ideas and strategies have resulted in, or are most likely to result in, the desired outcome of diversifying Health Service Psychology doctoral programs. Therefore, we are inviting program directors and students to share their perspectives.

Although many listservs limit distribution of research requests, because this is a project evolved from the CCTC conference, we are asking if you would be willing to forward the email below to doctoral psychology program directors in your training council.

The email to program directors asks them to complete a brief survey, and to forward a second survey to their students.

Thank you very much for helping us collect this information in an effort to diversify doctoral psychology programs.

 EMAIL TO PROGRAM DIRECTORS

Dear Program Director,

A recent multisession conference initiated by the Council of Chairs of Training Councils (CCTC) entitled “Social Responsiveness in Health Service Psychology Training: Recalibrating Our Collective Mission,” focused on developing strategies to enhance diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of Health Service Psychology education and training. As a follow-up to the conference, we are conducting a study to examine which ideas and strategies have been implemented, and which resulted in the desired outcome of diversifying students and graduates of doctoral psychology programs, and therefore diversifying the profession.

We are asking you to do two things:

  • First, we are surveying programs and inviting you (as a program director) to complete an anonymous online questionnaire (Expected duration: ~15 – 20 minutes). You can access the consent form and survey here  https://miamioh.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_9sMgFTIjeBxbhvU
  • Second, we would very much appreciate it if you would forward the student email below to invite your students to complete the student survey (Expected duration ~10 – 15 minutes). The student email contains a separate link to the consent form and survey.

Your contributions have the potential to help shape the future of our profession. We know your time is valuable and appreciate your participation very much! Thank you in advance for your time.
