I am looking for someone to come and work for me full time as a drone technician at Drone Doctor.

I have taken over running I-Drone and Drone Doctor from Rob Powers who has moved into Onboard Smarts. These three businesses and a handful more are part of The Swarm Group which is a startup based in Port Melbourne that focuses on various new drone and aviation technology.

I-Drone sells drones retail, online and from a shop front, and Drone Doctor repairs drones. Currently we only sell and fix DJI drones, mostly the Phantom 3s and also the Inspires. We will be expanding to other brands and types this year.

The role is mainly about repairing drones, which is actually fairly easy for a hacker type. Not nearly as complicated as building a 3d printer or a robot. The other unavoidable part is dealing with customers, answering their questions about drones and billing them for their repair etc. No harder than giving a tour of the hackerspace.

Ideally I'd like someone with some RC and drone experience, but if you're good with a screwdriver, can talk to a customer, and are keen you can learn the rest.

It's a pretty cool place to work. There's usually something interesting going on like testing a model jet engine or watching Ben crash a brand new FPV racing drone. You can fly drones and ride around on a hover board inside, wear jeans and we have a BBQ every Friday lunchtime.

If you're interested then email me: robg...@i-drone.com.au

If you know someone that you think would be suitable then please pass this on to them.

Thanks,

Rob.
