- Send message form on user pages
- Editors can now hide/mark-as-private any track!
We received our first flood of track submission today, many tracks
from the same band(probably copyrighted material) with minimal or none
description, using links from a suspicious host
(http://username.tripod.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderfiles/filename.mp3)
from the same user.
Tracks marked as hidden are visible only to editors and to the user
who submitted the link, they are not visible on the public lists, and
with the send message form the moderator can explain to the user why
their contributions are not on the main pages without leaving the
system =)
I understand that the scope of the website and the cc licenses concept
are not very clear at the moment to the end user, and while for now at
the beginning it is manageable to send canned emails to newbie users
it would be helpful to have a basic FAQ covering the most common
misconceptions that we can point in the future. So I need your help.
Please send a reply listing what are the main questions and topics
that we must have on the CCHits FAQ. Here is an initial draft:
- I have the url of a fantastic mp3 track but I don't know what
license applies to it, can I add it anyways?
- Can I submit links to traditional copyrighted "all rights reserved" tracks?
- Where do I find tracks with an explicit CC license notice on the web?
- Can I upload a track to CCHits?
- What is Creative Commons?
- Why some tracks sounds like chipmunk on the web player?
- How do I configure my iTunes to automatically download the [top
hits],[recent tracks], [tracks submitted by the user x], [tracks
tagged with y], etc...?
